Bathurst Region What’s On – June 2015

Welcome to our monthly What’s On? where we’ll let you know the very best things to see and do in our community for you and your family in the Bathurst, Blayney, Oberon, Cowra and Molong region.

June 14 (Sun): Bathurst Bridal Expo – 105 William St, Bathurst
Know someone taking the plunge soon? Fresh out of interesting wedding ideas? Why not get together with the girls (or your guy) and check out the Bathurst Bridal Expo on Sunday the 14th, June. There’ll be a massive display of everything wedding and bridal, from caterers to cars, flowers to frocks, it’s all covered at this great community event.
There’s even a Gala Fashion Parade at 2pm to help you find the perfect dress and other amazing fashion ideas. Entry is $10, head to their website for more info.

June 14 (Sun): Early Childhood Music Concert – Mitchell Conservatorium, Bathurst
Get ready to sing, dance and bop around at MitCon’s annual Early Childhood Music Concert. Bundle the kids up in their warm winter PJ’s and get ready for a fun event for young families at the Mitchell Conservatorium. Entry is $10 per head or $30 for a family of four. June 19~20 (Fri~Sat): NSW Dorset Championships – Cowra Showgrounds, Cowra
With over $10,000 in prizes and giveaways up for grabs, the NSW Dorset Championships is shaping up to be a big weekend. Held at the Cowra showgrounds, the event will display prime Dorset sheep from studs from all over NSW. The event coincides with the weekly sheep sales on Friday, and Farmers Markets that are held at the Showgrounds. Click here for more info.

June 19~20 (Fri~Sat): Winter Solstice Festival – Newbridge Village, Blayney
Hear ye’, hear ye’, the Winter Solstice Festival is here! Take a step back in time to enjoy Medieval fighting displays, as well as Lords and Ladies in their finest dress. Kids and families can enjoy blacksmith demonstrations and some tasty food, as well as the lighting of the ‘wicker man’ in the early evening. Kids can even dress up to have even more fun.

June 21 (Sun): Blayney Farmer’s Market – Carrington Park, Blayney
The Blayney Farmer’s Market is held on the 3rd Sunday of the month from 8:30am~12:30pm. There’s a wide variety of fresh seasonal fruit and veg, organic meats, smoked meats and seafood, as well as baked goods and quality artisan products and wares. Head on down to Carrington Park to have a look at this great community market, and take home something tasty for the family to enjoy. Check them out on facebook.

June 26 (Fri): Oberon Hospital Auxiliary Bingo Afternoon – Robey Centre, Oberon
Bring your fluro marker pens and get ready for some rhyming slang (leg’s eleven, 66 pick-up sticks, and 88 – two fat ladies 🙂 ) and join the Oberon Hospital Auxiliary for a spot of bingo and afternoon tea. Entry is $5 and starts at 1:30pm.

June 27 (Sat): ‘Harvest in the Park’ Markets – Brougham Park, Cowra
Head down to Brougham Park to experience some of the best local produce and wine that our region has to offer. This great little community event is the perfect way sample a variety of different wares, all in the one place. Why not take the kids to check out on offer this month.
